How Echolight REMS Works
Echolight REMS technology utilizes a combination of radiofrequency signal analysis and ultrasound imaging to evaluate both bone quality and bone mineral density. By capturing and interpreting acoustic signals reflected from bone tissue, this advanced system delivers a detailed assessment of bone strength, structure, and overall integrity.
The technology examines both cortical and trabecular bone components, offering valuable insight into bone resilience and structural condition. This dual analysis allows for a more comprehensive understanding of skeletal health than density-only testing methods.
During the procedure, a conductive ultrasound gel is applied to the targeted area, after which a handheld scanner is used to generate real-time images of the bone. These images are processed through specialized software that produces a detailed report, including T-scores, Z-scores, and a proprietary measurement known as the Fragility Score.
